Start with a Title (Part 2): Poetry Day 8

“Write a poem for the end of something, with ‘last’ in its title. For example:

‘Last Poem,’ Ted Berrigan

‘Last Call,’ me and probably a lot of other writers

‘Last Trip to the Island,’ Erin Belieu

The Last Time I Saw Richard,’ a great song by Joni Mitchell”

-Kim Addonizio, “Ordinary Genius”

Last Friend

I panicked,

                    Okay?

The thought popped in

         and swirled

        around and

        around

It was like a skipping record

                                 -But more coherent

So I freaked

And blew it

And-

            The End
