Today we were given a reference sheet with four boxes and four dinosaurs on it. We had to draw each of the dinosaurs in the small amount of space within the corresponding box.
I tackled this challenge by trying to create caricatures of each dinosaur. Caricatures are easy to identify because they highlight important or prominent features of the subject. That was what I tried to do. Let’s just say, cavemen illustrated the prehistoric beasts better than me.
Today’s challenge was to take a very static photograph of a man holding an umbrella and manipulate it. We were shown the silhouette and it was mostly one big blob. Not very exciting.
In my rendition, I focused on making the silhouette more dynamic. I wanted to give the man more angles and pieces sticking out. I realized that drawing the man in a storm with the wind pushing against him, would create the picture I was looking for.
Don’t mind the equations at the top of the picture. I was bored in math class when I drew this picture.
Yesterday’s drawing challenge was to tell a visual story. I got one panel and no words with which to tell a story. I think what I drew may even have an implied beginning, middle and end. What do you think?
I apologize for the text behind the drawing. I was bored in class and drew on the back of the syllabus.
Yesterday’s drawing challenge was to draw an image representing four abstract words. The catch was that you couldn’t use symbols or letters and you couldn’t draw faces. Otherwise you could be as literal or metaphorical as you wanted.
So much for keeping up with the 21 day challenge. I am now an entire week behind. No worries, I shall press on!
Today I was asked to draw a scary monster. To me, nothing is scarier than the unknown, so most of my monster is hidden in the dark. Terrifying, I know.
Today’s drawing challenge was to fill a page with doodles, maybe have the doodles interact. I don’t like my food touching on my plate and I don’t care for my doodles to touch, either. Therefore, there is a lot of white space on my page. Enjoy.
Yesterday’s challenge was to draw 2 of 4 pictures of man made objects as accurately as possible. The options were a house, headphones, an espresso machine and a plane. I’m fairly happy with the results but straight lines seem to be difficult for me.
